Blessings in the Hard Times

As some of you know, and some of you read in my last post, my wonderful husband and I were expecting a child come Thanksgiving time. Sometimes God gives us challenges that we don’t fully understand, and this week we have had one of those: we experienced our second miscarriage this year. We are hurting and our hearts are broken again, but we know that our God is a gracious and loving God, and we still are trusting that when His timing is right he will bless us with a family. Your thoughts and prayers and greatly appreciated, as the healing is slow and hard.

When these challenges come it is easy to get all wrapped up in the hurt and anger, but we are doing our best to praise God even in the storm. And, so that is why we knew that when we found out we had lost our second, and received our Foster Care License in the mail the same day we knew that God was giving us a gift and a hope for the future. We are able to look ahead and know that we are serving Him and caring for His children and that maybe God has a different plan for our family. I can’t wait to start doing His work in Foster Care, and I know that my family and friends will support us in every way they can, and that sometimes we need to look ahead through the grief to the many blessings God is giving us.

I am amazed at the strength that you and Joel have at a difficult time in your lives. I know the Lord is by your side and he will not desert you in your time of need and will give you the comfort you are so deserving of. We are proud of you both and pray that your emotional and physical hurt is soon healed. Love Grammy and Papa
